About

Common concerns about the ethics of using AI in editorial work include disclosure, plagiarism, bias, and transparency. In this Ask Me Anything, editor and AI policy expert Amy Frushour Kelly will answer common concerns about the ethics of using generative AI in editorial work, such as disclosure, plagiarism, impartiality, and transparency. Participants can expect to discuss topics including the accuracy and potential biases of LLMs, the obligation of editors to disclose AI usage to clients and readers, and best practices for protecting authors’ intellectual property.

The AMA will also delve into the risks of copyright infringement and the potential for client confidentiality breaches when working with AI tools. Amy will provide insights on how editors can navigate these concerns while benefiting from AI tools in their work. Join the discussion to gain a deeper understanding of the ethical implications of AI in the editorial field and learn best practices for utilizing these tools without compromising the integrity of your work — or that of your authors.
